Macintosh Installation Guide |
How to Install TrueCombat:Elite 0.49. Hi and welcome to this guide! We'll try to explain what you'll have to do, to play TrueCombat:Elite on your Macintosh G4 or G5. As long as there is no universal binary of "Enemy Territory" availiable, we recommend for all Intel-Mac Users a Bootcamp Installation. See the Support Forum or our Windows Install Guide for further Instructions.
Preparation
First, make sure your system has at least the following:

Mac OS X 10.3

G4 or G5 processor, 800 Mhz minimum

512 MB RAM.

64 MB OpenGL compliant 3D video card.

750 MB free hard disk space. (200MB for ET and 500MB for TC:E)

56.6k modem or better Internet connection. Broadband recommended for games with more than 8 players.
Update, if possible, your drivers (especially your graphic card driver).
Download
If you start from scratch (what means you dont have - or you even dont know - Enemy Territory), you have to download:

Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory v2.60
-
TrueCombat : Elite 0.49
Downloadlinks to these files, you'll find in our download section or anywhere else.
You surely don't have to redownload the Enemy Territory files, if it's already installed on your machine!
Installation
After you downloaded the files, we'll have to install it just in the order listed above. Starting with "Enemy Territory", open the image and double click the installer. Then just follow the instructions. We recommend to install on your Startup Drive in the given folder 'Applications'.
If you can assume that Enemy Territory works fine, we welcome you to proceed to the next step.
I hope you're still comfortable - be sure you have the TrueCombat:Elite files you've just downloaded handy. Installing TrueCombat:Elite 0.49 is easily done by a smooth doubleklick on the installer file after opening the disk image. Just follow the instructions and select the same disk to install as used installing "Enemy Territory".
TrueCombat:Elite should now be installed in the 'tcetest' directory inside the ET directory.
Startup
Congratulations, TrueCombat:Elite should now be installed on your Mac! To start the game, go to your Applications folder where you will find a startup script called "True Combat Elite". Double click this to start ;)
